More bad news about the oldest player in baseball -- Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer was hospitalized due to recurring symptoms from groin surgery he had in September.

Moyer was admitted to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the team announced Wednesday. But the Phils didn’t give any more information about his condition.

NBCPhiladelphia reached out to the Phillies for comment but have yet to receive any info.

Moyer was hurt late in the season. He underwent surgery Oct. 2 to repair three torn groin muscles that kept him off the team’s postseason roster.

The 47-year-old lefty was hospitalized in the heart of the Phillies' playoff run last month with a blood infection.

Moyer started for the Phightins until mid-August when he was placed in the pen. He was 10-10 with a 5.34 ERA in 25 starts but improved to 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in five relief appearances.

Moyer hoped to compete for a starting spot on the 2010 Phillies.
