Philadelphia Flyers' Mike Richards is in the clear, the NHL has ruled.

Richards was facing suspension after hitting David Booth of the Florida Panthers on the head Saturday night.

As Puck Daddy reported:

Towards the end of the second period, Booth was bringing the puck into the Flyers zone when he looked back as he was making a drop pass, reported. A split-second later, Richards was cutting across the ice and caught Booth's head with his upper left arm, knocking him out cold.

Booth was taken off the ice on a stretcher and to a local Philadelphia hospital after suffering a concussion. Booth, who was released today, returned to South Florida, where Panthers medical personnel will watch his condition, the AP reported.

The Flyers captain, meanwhile, got a five-minute major for interference and game misconduct during the game Saturday night; afterwards, there was plenty of speculation over whether Richards would face anything more.

But Sunday, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told the Philadelphia Daily News' Frank Seravalli that Richards would not be discplined over the incident.

The Flyers won the game against the Panthers, 5-1.
