Philly Area Sporting Goods Store Offering NFL Jersey Insurance

Hesitant to pick up a Sam Bradford Eagles jersey because you don't trust that Chip Kelly will keep him in Philadelphia long enough to make your $100 or so investment worthwhile?

Now there's insurance for that.

Schuylkill Valley Sports is offering NFL jersey insurance at their 18 Philly area locations.

Here's how they describe the $10 plan on their website,“ NFL jersey insurance allows you to purchase a new NFL jersey (of equal or lesser value) at 50 percent off the current retail price (at time of future purchase) if the original player jersey purchased is traded or released.”

So if you bought the $100 Tim Tebow jersey advertised on their website today, added a $10 insurance policy, and Tebow gets released sometime in August, you could then get a Jordan Mathews jersey of the same quality for $50.

But, naturally, there is fine print to read: "Valid for 18 months from time of purchase. Cannot be used on clearance jerseys sold at 50 percent off or more. Can only be used on in-stock jerseys (no special orders). Excludes retired or injured players.”

Well, cross adding a Sam Bradford jersey off the second-chance list. No inured players allowed.
