FBI Joins Hunt for NBA Player Accused of Murder

The FBI and police in Atlanta and LA were searching Monday for a former NBA player and first-round draft pick suspected of a fatal drive-by shooting of a woman in Atlanta.

Javaris Crittenton, who most recently played for the Charlotte Bobcats, is wanted in the Aug. 19 shooting of Julian Jones, 23. She was shot as she walked with friends arounf 10 p.m. Police believe Crittenton fired shots from a black Chevrolet Tahoe. There were several witnesses to the incident, police said.

The FBI is involved in the search, and authorities believe Crittenton may have fled to Los Angeles. Crittenton was the LA Lakers' first-round pick in 2007.

Crittenton was once suspended from the NBA in 2009 when he brought a gun into the Washington Wizards' locker room, according to NBC Sports. He is currently on the roster of the Dakota Wizards in the NBA Development League.

Investigators say Crittenton meant to kill one of two men that Jones was walking with but hit her by accident, WSB-TV reports.  ESPN reports Jones was mother of four.
