NFC Rips AFC in Pro Bowl, 55-41

Even by the relaxed standards of the Pro Bowl, the AFC team seemed to be taking an on-field vacation in the first half as they spotted the NFC a 35 point first half lead en route to a 55-41 defeat in the NFL's annual all star contest.

Cornerback DeAngelo Hall of the Washington Redskins was the game's MVP, collecting one of the NFC's five interceptions on the day and returning a fumble for a touchdown. For his efforts, he won a new Cadillac.

"I was just about to buy another SUV," the he said after the game, "so to come out here and grab one for free, I like that."

AFC quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers and Matt Cassel each threw an interception in the first half, helping the NFC jump out to a 42-0 lead. Starter Rivers, replacing the injured Tom Brady, threw two picks in the first quarter, the second to Hall.

In addition to tying the record for most points scored in the Pro Bowl, Philadelphia's David Akers connected on seven extra points and two field goals, which made him the highest scoring kicker in the game's history with 52 points, surpassing Morten Anderson's 45. Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings also set a Pro Bowl record for career rushing touchdowns with 4 by taking one in from 14 yards out in the first quarter.

The game returned to Hawaii this year after moving to Miami last season, and the players seemed to like the chance to be back in the islands.
