Brett Myers has reason to be happy -- he's back.

Brett Myers is back in the fold for the World Series.

The Phillies will add Brett Myers as a 12th pitcher on their World Series roster, learned NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark.

The right-handed reliever wasn’t happy after he was left off the team’s NLCS roster. But, he can now rejoice knowing that he will be able to face the Yankees on baseball's biggest stage.

Part of the reason Myers was left off the NLCS roster was because of a lat injury near his throwing shoulder, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.

He appeared to be healthy again so he was added to the WS roster.

As with any move like this someone had to be left out. In this case utilityman Miguel Cairo was locked out of the World Series party, reported Clark.

The move to leave Cairo off the roster didn't come as a big surprise. He struggled at the plate pinch hitting in the postseason going 0 for 5 in the first two rounds.

Eric Bruntlett, who was left off the NLDS roster, was the only true utility guy left on the Phillies bench. The triple-play king also adds a stronger glove and more speed than Cairo.

The other somewhat surprising move was that Antonio Bastardo was kept on the roster. The young southpaw was only used sparingly facing two batters total in NL playoffs and only managing to get one batter out.

The finalized roster was released Tuesday night:

Catchers: Carlos Ruiz, Paul Bako

Infielders: Bruntlett, Greg Dobbs, Pedro Feliz, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley

Outfielders: Ben Francisco, Raul Ibanez, Matt Stairs, Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth

Pitchers: left-handers Bastardo, Scott Eyre, Cole Hamels, J.A. Happ and Cliff Lee and right-handers Joe Blanton, Chad Durbin, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, Pedro Martinez, Myers and Chan Ho Park
