Just when we thought the madness was settling and we could lay the trade rumors to rest, Seattle comes a knocking.
The Seattle Seahawks were reportedly in contact with the Eagles in regards to quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio said in an interview with Mike Missanelli on 97.5 The Fanatic.
"Seattle is very, very interested either in McNabb or Kolb because Pete Carroll does not want to lose in his first season back in the NFL. He wants to come out of the gates winning," Paolantonio said.
All this chatter helped cement Sal Pal's belief that McNabb will be traded by the Eagles before next season, said ProFootballTalk.
"You got three quarterbacks on the roster now that are going to be unhappy going into the season," said Sal Pal.
He also explained that there aren’t any teams who want Mike Vick at the Eagles asking price -- the interest for the Eagles' wildcat option has “dried up.” The Eagles picked up Vick's $1.5 million roster bonus on Tuesday, according to NFL.com.
Cut to Andy Reid: “I was asked if Donovan would be our Quarterback next year, and I said ‘yes.”
Sigh. What a mess.
Needless to say, it’s hard to get a straight answer from anyone in the Eagles’ camp, let alone figuring out who will be taking the snaps come Week 1 of the 2010 season. Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, this issue is far from resolved.
At this point, every "Iggles" fan should be confused beyond belief in regards to who their quarterback is, and quite frankly we can’t blame you. The Green Nation certainly has a huge controversy on it’s hands.
