Phils phans will have to wait at least another night to complete Game 5 of the World Series.

Major League Baseball has announced that Game 5 has been delayed until Wednesday, as confirmed by NBC 10's Jade McCarthy first on NBCPhiladelphia.com.

The announcement was made as the Philadelphia area continued to be pounded by rain, wind and even snow in some areas.

Rain and wind suspended Game 5 between the Phillies and Rays in the middle of the sixth inning on Monday night.

MLB is going to try and fit the rest of the game in on Wednesday night with the first pitch at 8:37 p.m.

"While obviously we want to finish Game 5 as soon as possible, the forecast for today does not allow for us to continue the game this evening," said Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig.

MLB will closely monitor Wednesday's forecast hourly. They will advise fans as soon as final decision on the schedule is made.

Fans holding tickets for Game 5 can use their stubs to gain re-entry once the game is resumed. Parking stubs and receipts can also be used for free parking once the game is replayed.

Whenever the game continues the Phils will be coming to bat with the game tied 2-2.
