Lou Will to Miss Time With Busted Jaw

A hard elbow will be keeping Lou Williams out of the 76ers lineup.

It wasn’t an elbow thrown by Williams but rather one he was on the receiving end of that broke his jaw and kept him out for at least one game.

Lou Will was hit with elbow Tuesday night in Washington. He stayed in the game and finished with 26 points despite the injury.

It was originally alleged that he would be out two to four weeks but the Sixers claimed there was no timetable.

William’s jaw was x-rayed Wednesday revealing the break, said the team.

Williams would be left out of the lineup Wednesday night at Boston and the jaw would be reevaluated Thursday when the team returns to Philly, said Sixers PR.

The injury to Lou Will opens the door for Sixers rookie point guard Jrue Holiday. The Sixers first-round pick averaged less than eight minutes and four points per game as he was worked into the rotation. But, he shined in 10 minutes Tuesday as he dropped 11 with six boards while going three-for-five from beyond the arc.

Elton Brand was another Sixer on the mend. He was listed as a game-time decision for the Boston game as he nursed a sore hamstring.
