Kerry Simmonds began rowing in 2007 at the University of Washington. She finished first in the World Rowing Championships for the Women's Eight boat and Second for the Women's pair. Kerry currently trains at the USRowing Training Center in Princeton, NJ. She grew up in the Carmel Valley/Del Mar neighborhood north of San Diego and played basketball and ran track for Torrey Pines High School.
