No World Record Attempt for Rollins

Jimmy Rollins won't break any world records today, but he will get an MRI to see what's going on with his right calf.

The Phillies shortstop was supposed to attempt to break Babe Ruth's Guinness World Record for "Longest Batted Ball" on the Ben Franklin Parkway. But that event's being postponed due to his hurt leg.

Rollins strained his right calf before Monday's home opener during his usual pre-game warm up running sprints in the outfield.

The injury was a surprise, but it didn't turn out to be a huge setback for the Phils, who beat the Nats 7-4.

"We've been doing this for about 4 years now," manager Charlie Manuel told the Daily News. "Let me tell you something -- just because somebody goes down, we're going to continue right on playing. We've got guys who like to play and we've got some guys sitting on the bench who can get the job done.

Juan Castro took his turf shoes off, put on his playing shoes and had an RBI double in the fifth.

Rollins apologized for postponing the world record event. "I am confident we will be able to reschedule this amazing event and break some records."

Yahoo sports speculated that J-Roll's calf strain could mean he'll miss two weeks. We'll see.
