Baskett was the odd man out of the Birds' wide receiving corps.

Former Eagles wideout Hank Baskett didn't take long to find himself a new home.

Baskett signed with the Indianapolis Colts Thursday, according ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Colts were desperate for a wide receiver after it turned out that starter Anthony Gonzalez may be out longer than the
Colts first feared.

Head Coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't immediately confirm the signing. But Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning was talking Baskett.

"Since Anthony's going to be out a while, hopefully we can catch him up as soon as possible," Manning said when asked directly about having Baskett on the roster. "It's a lot of offense to learn in a couple of days but he's a veteran, so he could help us."

The Birds released Baskett Tuesday to make room for quarterback Michael Vick.

It wasn't clear if "Mr. Kendra" would be ready to go for the Colts Monday night showdown against Miami.
