Gary Papa's memorial service is tonight at the National Constitution Center. The service itself is private and won't be open to the public, but WPVI will live stream the memorial on their Web site. The memorial begins at 7:30 p.m.

Papa, 54, was the Action News sports director. He died last month, six years after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was a popular personality on and off screen.

"It will never be quite the same around here, but we have a job to do, and we will do it just as well as Gary would expect and demand," anchor Jim Gardner said in a statement from the station when Papa died.

Meteorologist Cecily Tynan described Mr. Papa as a "wonderful person, full of life, full of energy, full of love for his family and his coworkers," according to Philly.com. "We're all going to miss him terribly…He fought the battle as well as he could, but he couldn't fight any longer. He'll stay alive in our hearts and in the viewers' hearts," said Tynan.

Papa is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons Tucker and Nathaniel; his parents; and a brother.
