Susan Francia, Caroline Lind and the rest of Team USA are heading to the Women’s Rowing Eight Finals. The team qualified with the fastest time in their heat and were the second overall fastest with a time of 6:14.68. They blew past their heat competition, as Australia earned a distant second in Heat 1 with a time of 6:20.89.
Canada is also heading to the finals, winning Heat 2 and earning the fastest overall time with 6:13.91.
It’s a return to the final for Abington, Pa. native Susan Francia and Princeton University graduate Caroline Lind. They both won Olympic Gold as members of the Women’s Eight National Team during the 2008 games in Beijing. The Women's Rowing Eight Final is set to take place on Thursday.
