Flyers Trade for Kubina

The team traded a second-round and fifth-round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning in order to land the defenseman.

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded for Pavel Kubina of the Tampa Bay Lightning, according to CSN Philly. The team traded a second-round and fifth-round draft pick in order to land the defenseman.

Kubina, 34, has 100 blocked shots so far this season. He also has 110 career goals and 272 career assists. The Flyers will be his fourth team in his 14-year NHL career.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, Kubina won the Stanley Cup while with the Lightning back in 2004.

CSN Philly also reports the Flyers will need to lose a player in their system since Kubina is the 51st contract.
