The Flyers bolstered their defense even further by signing 6-foot-2 defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen Thursday.
The 25-year-old signed a one-year deal, according to the team.
This came a few weeks after the Fly Guys made a huge splash by grabbing super defenseman Chris Pronger.
“We are very pleased to add Ole to our team,” said General Manager Paul Holmgren. “Ole is a defenseman with size and defends very well... he is an ideal fit to the core of our team."
Tollefsen, a Norwegian native, played last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He missed nearly half the Jackets games and the playoffs due to a knee injury that required surgery.
"Tolly" was excited to be in Philly.
“I feel great. I am really excited to be coming to Philadelphia. I have always been a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and what they are all about,” said Tollefsen.

“They play a gritty style of hockey and that is typical of me. I’m an energy guy. I bring a lot of energy every night, and I am very dependable in my own zone, making the simple plays and sticking up for my teammates.”
Tollefsen recorded 10 points and 273 penalty minutes in parts of four NHL seasons.
