The Redskins defense took a big hit Sunday while the Eagles' D got a boost.

Star defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth would sit out against Philly with an ankle injury, according to Pro Football Talk.

The Skins were already without the 350-pounder last week against Dallas. Kedric Golston stepped onto the starting D.C. line in place of Haynesworth.

The Skins’ D also took a hit as cornerback DeAngelo Hall wasn’t able to go. Carlos Rogers stepped into the secondary in place of Hall.

The Eagles, despite having a slew of questionable defenders, didn’t have any surprises on their inactive list.

Injured cornerbacks Sheldon Brown (hamstring) and Asante Samuel (stinger) as well as linebacker Jeremiah Trotter (knee) were all active versus D.C.

The Eagles would also be without Akeem Jordan who continues to recover from a hyper-extended knee.

Of course both teams would be without their starting running backs Clinton Portis and Brian Westbrook as they each sat out with concussions.

The rest of the inactive Redskins were tight end Chris Cooley, linebacker Robert Hensen, defensive end Renaldo Wynn, lineman Paul Fanaika and quarterback Richard Bartel.

As for the Birds, wide receiver Kevin Curtis, d-back Jeff Pope, running back P.J. Hill, guard/tackle Stacy Andrews, guard Mike McGlynn and QB Kevin Kolb rounded out the inactive list.
