Garcia "Excited" About Becoming an Eagle, Again
Eagles sign Jeff Garcia to one-year deal

Just when you thought the Eagles' season couldn't get any more interesting…
The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing former backup quarterback Jeff Garcia back to the team. The Eagles and Garcia agreed to a one-year contract, NBC Philadelphia confirmed Monday. The terms of the deal are undisclosed at this point.
"It's an exciting time and an exciting opportunity," Garcia said via phone Monday.
The move comes a day after veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb fractured a rib during the team's first regular season game of the 2009-2010 season. McNabb is questionable for game two against the New Orleans Saints, head coach Andy Reid said.
"He is sore," Reid said. "I'm not gonna put him out there, obviously, if he can't function. We'll take it day by day and see how it goes."
Garcia rose to temporary greatness in 2006 when he took the Eagles on a run for the playoffs after stepping in for a hurt McNabb and injured second-string quarterback A.J. Feeley. Feeley was just released by the team last week. He turned down the opportunity to come back to Philadelphia for a third time after landing a deal with the Carolina Panthers Monday.
"I still have a lot of football left in me," Garcia said. "I feel like I can just step right in and everything will still sound familiar and be very comfortable for me."
So what does this mean for current second-stringer Kevin Kolb?
Reid said No. 4 will take the field should McNabb not be able to play. But after his lukewarm performance in Carolina Sunday, many wonder if Garcia will quickly be moved into the top spot.
One edge Garcia may have over Kolb and even soon-to-be eligible wildcard Michael Vick is that he has actually run the Eagles' offense in several regular season games.
But the former Eagle says he's not trying to take Kolb's job and will work to help him grow as a quarterback. "I'm not trying to step in for anybody, just blend in."
We'll see about that.
