D-Jax Unlikely to Play Sunday: Report

Eagles wideout could miss first game of his career

Don’t expect Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson to suit up Sunday at Atlanta after he lost consciousness last week against Washington.

The Birds’ No. 1 receiver “blacked out” when he was hit n the third-quarter of the Eagles 27-24 win, reported ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio.

This was really the first indication that D-Jax lost consciousness when he suffered a concussion from a hit by Skins linebacker London Fletcher.

The Birds, and the NFL in general, are being extra cautious with concussions recently as evident by Brian Westbrook continuing to miss time after suffering his third concussion and other stars like Clinton Portis, Kurt Warner and Ben Roethlisberger missed games after suffering head injuries.

The likely scenario is that the Birds will be without “Action” Jackson when they take on the Falcons.

The Birds receiver seemed to be thinking along the same lines.

“I don’t think I can go,” Jackson told ESPN.

The Birds (7-4) are going to already have to play without B-West, who was ruled out with latest concussion symptoms, and will likely be without D-Jax against Atlanta. The Falcons (6-5) will be without starting QB Matt Ryan.

So, neither team will be at full offensive strength.

Jackson caught 44 passes for 769 yards and two TDs this season. He also returned a punt and took a run for a score this season.
