Yeah, Brett Myers was mad, but when he hurled a couple of comments at Cole Hamels Monday night, one witness says it was not the "tense confrontation" characterized by Yahoo! Sports.

Fox Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal says he saw the whole thing and thought Myers was joking.

True: Myers did say to Hamels, "What are you doing here? I thought you quit."
True: Hamels did respond with an expletive.
True: Hamels was initially a little ticked off by Myers' comment.\

But Hamels said he realized pretty quickly that it was just an innocent comment. Both Myers and Hamels said that in the clubhouse, the expression, "I thought you quit" means "I thought you left for the night."

The initial report on Yahoo! Sports said Myers comments were in reference to Hamels saying after his Game 3 start that he couldn't wait for the season to be over. Myers said he wasn't even aware Hamels had made those remarks.

"He didn't know what had been in the papers. It was a random coincidence. It's what he says every day, but because of the situation, it hit a nerve. He totally apologized. He said the wrong thing at the wrong time. He had no idea what was going on," Hamels told the Inky. "We're good friends. We understand each other well."
