Vice President Joe Biden was inducted into the Little League Hall of Excellence just before Sunday's Little League World Series championship game between Taiwan and California, according to Yahoo news.

Biden, with his three granddaughters by his side, said he began playing baseball for Green Ridge Little league in Scranton, Pa. as an eight-year-old shortstop before moving to centerfield. His playing style was summed up as "scrappy" by The Hill.

He even joked that if it came down to pitching in the Little League World Series or being vice president, he would choose playing ball.

Biden shook hands with both teams before the Little League World Series Championship.

As for the action on the field, the team from Southern California won the game.
