Wayne Bryant Faces More Fraud Charges

Jailed ex-NJ senator faces new federal charges

A New Jersey senator now in a federal prison was indicted on new fraud and bribery charges Monday.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York indicted former Sen. Wayne Bryant and attorney Eric Wisler.

The indictment alleges that Wisler paid Bryant's law firm $192,000 to ensure Bryant's support for development projects.

They include a $1.2 billion redevelopment of Camden's Cramer Hill neighborhood and a failed Meadowlands golf course project.

Wisler's lawyer, Michael Critchley, says his client denies the allegations.

Bryant lawyer Carl Poplar did not return a phone message.

Bryant is serving four years after being convicted of steering millions in state grants to a public university in exchange for a low-show job.
