Report: Romney Could Coax Christie into VP Post

NJ Gov. says presumptive GOP nominee is a “convincing guy”

A Philadelphia Inquirer report says NJ Gov. Christie signaled a possible change of heart about seeking higher office, during an appearance on Monday in Plainsboro.

Inquirer reporter Matt Katz reports Christie said “for the first time in public,” that he might be convinced by Romney if the former Mass. governor asked him join the Republican ticket.

The revelation came during a visit by the Republican governor to a West Windsor-Plainsboro North High School history class.

It could turn out to be a historical moment in presidential politics, if it comes to pass.

You may have spotted televised reports of Christie among the politicians and celebrities at the weekend White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC. Christie appeared to be good-natured about the ribbing by comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel at that event.

Christie has endorsed Romney and attended rallies and fund raisers on his behalf.

NJ's presidential and state primary is set for June 5.
