Obama Gives School Speech in Philly

President's "back-to-school" speech given from Masterman School

President Obama was in Philadelphia Tuesday to deliver his second annual "back-to-school" speech.

The city school chosen for the event is a nationwide leader in education.

The President delivered his speech at the renowned Masterman School in the Spring Garden section of the city. The laboratory and demonstration school is a National Blue Ribbon school.

Some 600 Masterman students and faculty were on hand for the president's address, which was also broadcast to students around the country.

Mr. Obama's remarks were streamed live on the White House website and broadcast on some cable TV outlets to classrooms and school auditoriums across the nation.

The President’s first national address to students took place a year ago at a high school in Arlington, Va.
