Mitt Romney is making another campaign swing through the presidential election battleground states of Pa. and Ohio this week.
The former Mass. governor and presumptive GOP presidential nominee will attend a rally in Irwin, Westmoreland County, 22 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Pa. is an important swing state considered to be a key state in the race for the White House. On Wednesday he travels to Bowling Green, Ohio.
He will visit Horizon Wireline Services for a speech expected to focus on job creation and the economy. Romney was last in Pa. for a campaign bus tour in June.
On Saturday former GOP rival Rick Santorum attended his first Romney campaign event in Greensburg, Westmoreland County. The former Pa. senator ended his own presidential campaign in April. Since then he set up the political action committee, Patriot Voices, to help elect conservative candidates.
Political observers are speculating on the timing for Romney to announce his running mate. Romney will be in Boston on Thursday. Next week he will travel to the Summer Olympics in London and make other stops overseas before returning two weeks before the GOP convention.
The Republican National Convention will be in Tampa from Aug. 27-30.
