Jersey Shore Looks to Address Rising Overdoses

Officials, advocates and recovering addicts are looking for ways to deal with rising numbers of drug overdoses in New Jersey's Ocean County.

The county has had more than 100 fatal overdoses this year, nearly twice as many as in all of 2012.

Opiate Task Force chairman Anthony Castellano tells the Asbury Park Press, "This is an emergency situation."

The group is considering launching a mobile center where addicts in withdrawal could receive medication and move into treatment programs.
