McCord Raises Millions for Governor Campaign

Pennsylvania state Treasurer Rob McCord says he's raised $6.6 million in his campaign for the Democratic nomination for governor.

The McCord campaign said Monday he finished 2013 with $6 million in the bank.

He's among at least eight people running for the nomination in the May 20 primary.

The Democrats are hoping to take on Republican Gov. Tom Corbett, who's seeking a second term. No other Republicans have declared their candidacy in the primary.

Candidates have until March 1 to submit enough signatures to make it onto the ballot.

The other Democratic hopefuls are U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, former state Revenue Secretary Tom Wolf, former state environmental protection secretaries John Hanger and Katie McGinty, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz and Pentecostal minister Max Myers.
