Attorney General Kathleen Kane Beset By Battles

When Kathleen Kane ran for Pennsylvania attorney general, she campaigned as a corruption-buster who would be independent of Gov. Tom Corbett and find out why it took more than three years to investigate Jerry Sandusky.

Now, amid a government pornographic email scandal she made public, she's facing a highly unusual and secret investigation. At issue, she says, is whether she breached grand jury secrecy when her office gave information about a separate investigation to a newspaper.

Some see it as the latest misstep of someone who is ill-equipped to be Pennsylvania's top prosecutor. Some Kane defenders worry it is a back-door attempt to railroad her out of office.

Kane says she did nothing wrong, while Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli questions the legality of the process.
