Gov. Christie is a Popular Pick for GOP Events

NJ Gov. continues to be a major player for Republicans

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s determination to sit out the 2012 presidential race has not lessened his stature with the Republican Party.

He’s still commanding high profile invitations to major GOP events

Christie is set to deliver a keynote speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s 2012 Gala Victory Luncheon in Washington, D.C. The lunch is part of the RJC Presidential Candidates Forum on Dec. 7. Tickets to the event go for $500 to $50,000.

According to Politico, each of the seven participating Republican presidential candidates will be allowed to speak for about 30 minutes. The participating candidates are: Michele Bachmann; Herman Cain; Newt Gingrich; Jon Huntsman; Rick Perry; Mitt Romney; and Rick Santorum.

Christie has already announced he’s supporting Mitt Romney for the GOP nomination.

There is political speculation that some in the party wish Christie’s “no” to running in 2012 could be reversed. And if not, they would like to see Christie make a run for the White House in 2016.
