Students with disabilities are now allowed to bring service animals on school buses in New Jersey.
Gov. Chris Christie signed the measure into law on Monday.
A prior law only allowed students to enter classrooms and school grounds with service animals.
The law permits school officials to ask whether the service animal is required due to a disability and what task or work the animal has been trained to perform.
The law also requires the animal to be under control by a leash, tether or other suitable means at all times.
