Del. Voter Registration Deadline Is Saturday

Last day to register to vote in the primary election for state and local offices next month

Voters have a three-step process for the Delaware Decision 2012 elections, that began with the April presidential primary.

On Sept. 11 voters will choose candidates for a number of statewide and local offices when they head back to the polls for the state primary election. The general election is Nov. 6.

Saturday is the last day voters can submit registration forms making them eligible to vote in the September primary. Ballots will include races for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S House, State Insurance Commissioner, State Senate and House hopefuls and county and local offices like Wilmington Mayor and City Council.

Voters can register in person at Department of Elections offices or while doing business with the state at the Division of Motor Vehicles, Department of Health and Social Services and the state Labor Department offices.

To be eligible to vote, applicants must be U.S. citizens, residing in Delaware -- you must have proof of residency -- and be over 18.

Anyone who moved since the last election should contact the Department of Elections and supply the new information.
