Corbett Begins Building New Administration

Gov.-elect meets with his transition team

Pennsylvania Gov.-elect Tom Corbett is preparing for his inauguration in January.

Corbett is meeting with his transition team in Harrisburg on Tuesday, to begin building his new administration.

The Republican promised during his campaign to balance the state budget mainly through spending cuts, without increasing state taxes or fees, despite a projected multibillion-dollar deficit.

Corbett has said selecting a budget secretary is a top priority.

Earlier this month, he tapped several well-connected Republicans to lead the transition team.  Bill Sasso, of Philadelphia is one of three co-chairs.  Sasso is chairman of the Stradley Ronon law firm and a former chairman of the board of directors of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

Corbett will be sworn in as Pennsylvania's 46th Governor on Jan. 18.
