Corbett Appoints Acting Chairman of Parole Board

A Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole member, John Tuttle, is taking over as acting chairman following the death of chairman Lloyd White.

Gov. Tom Corbett announced the appointment Tuesday.

Tuttle began working for the York County Probation Department in 1978 and was hired by the board in 2000, eventually rising to deputy executive director before being confirmed by the Senate in 2009 to serve as a board member.

Tuttle is the past president of the National Association of Probation Executives.

White had been on the board since 2001 and served as chairman since September. A board spokeswoman says White died of natural causes over the weekend.
