Christie Named to NGA's Executive Committee

After an annual meeting in Boston the decision was made

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been named to the executive committee of the National Governor's Association.

The appointment was made Sunday as the NGA concluded its 102 annual meeting in Boston.

Christie said he was honored to join the nine-member bipartisan committee, which oversees the NGA's operations and establishes its policy issue priorities. He plans to share ``a very distinct New Jersey perspective'' on the many serious fiscal and economic issues all governors now face.

Christie has served on the NGA's economic development and commerce committee since he became New Jersey's chief executive in January.
