Christie Likely to Endorse GOP NJ Nominee

Gov. Chris Christie says he anticipates endorsing whichever Republican wins Tuesday's U.S. Senate primary, though the campaign of the overwhelming favorite put out a social media post that some consider racist.

Christie says he knows Republican candidate Steve Lonegan understands that the tweet was "inflammatory'' and "completely inappropriate'' because he ordered it removed.

The post referenced Democratic candidate Cory Booker's ``foreign policy debate prep notes'' and showed a map labeling parts of Newark as ``West Africa, Guyana, Portugal, Brazil'' and other nations.

The staffer who posted it during Thursday's candidate debate was reprimanded, though Christie said he would have fired him.

The governor clashed with Lonegan when running against him in the 2009 GOP gubernatorial primary.

Christie now says he "fully anticipates'' endorsing the Republican nominee.
