Beau Biden Doing Well

Doctors will continue to hold therapy sessions, officials say

After a day of tests and observation at a Philadelphia hospital following a stroke, Del. AG Beau Biden's condition is improving.

Biden, a decorated war hero and son of Vice President Joe Biden, was rushed to Christiana Hospital Tuesday after suffering a mild stroke.

The 41-year-old never lost motor or speech functions as a result of the stroke, but was transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's stroke center as a precaution.

The Veep and his wife Dr. Jill Biden kept a close eye on their son, traveling with him from Delaware to Philadelphia.

Beau Biden has been making "favorable progress" as the day wore on, the Del. DOJ said Wednesday.

Jefferson doctors will continue to give Biden therapy sessions over the next couple of days to ensure there are not any lasting effects, officials said.

Vice President Biden was all smiles as he walked out of the hospital Wednesday afternoon. With a cheesesteak in one hand, Biden gave a wave and smile as he proclaimed: "I've got a Philly cheesesteak and my son's doing great!"
