5th Christie Aide to be Questioned on Traffic Jams

The aide Gov. Chris Christie has picked to be his next chief of staff is set to be the fifth person from his administration to appear before a legislative panel investigating a politically motivated traffic jam.

Regina Egea is scheduled to appear Thursday before a joint legislative committee.

Lawmakers are expected to ask her about being forwarded an email from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's executive director last September, ordering that closed approach lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee be reopened.

She also may be asked about editing the statement of a Port Authority official who previously appeared before lawmakers.

Lawmakers say they are holding off on calling more people to testify, partly to avoid conflicting with a federal criminal investigation.
