Former Rialto School Board President Accused of Having Child Pornography

A former Rialto school board president who took his computer in for repairs was arrested after the technician allegedly found child pornography on the hard drive, officials said Tuesday.

"This is probably one of the most deplorable child pornography cases that I’ve ever come in contact with and it’s disgusting," Rialto Police Capt. Randy De Anda said.

Daniel Lee Mays, 65, of Rialto, allegedly took his computer to the repair shop in Highland, when a technician found images of child porn, according to the Rialto Police Department.

After police were called about possible child pornography, detectives found videos depicting child pornography on the computer, police said.

Mays is well-known citizen in the Rialto community, according to police.

Police served Mays with a search warrant at his home Tuesday morning and found computer equipment, including hard drives, computer discs and videos of child pornography, Rialto police said.

"An overwhelming amount of evidence which obviously included a lot of child pornography from downloaded websites to VHS, video tapes, discs," De Anda said.

Mays was arrested and is being held in lieu of $100,000 at West Valley Detention Center.

There's a possibility that more charges may be pressed, according to an NBC4 report.
