2 Vietnamese Teens Missing at LAX Planned to Leave After Arriving in US: Police

Officials called off a search for two teenage Vietnamese girls who went missing at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday night after police learned they planned to leave their tour group upon arrival in the U.S.

The girls, ages 12 and 17, willfully left the airport and family members knew of their plan to leave the school group, airport police said.

Earlier, police reported the two girls did not speak English and have no connections in Los Angeles. They were last seen with a man, but authorities had no further information.

The investigation was being turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, airport police said in a tweet.
