Trump's ‘Star of David' Tweet About Clinton Posted Weeks Earlier

The website mic.com reported Sunday that the six-pointed star meme was originally posted June 15

The image of Hillary Clinton widely criticized as anti-Semitic after it was tweeted by Donald Trump, may have originated two weeks ago on a Twitter account devoted to bigoted memes, NBC News reported.

In the photo tweeted by Trump Saturday, Clinton’s image sits next to what appears to be a Jewish Star of David with the words “most corrupt candidate ever” on a background of $100 bills. Hours later, the original tweet was deleted and he tweeted the image a second time, replacing the star with a circle.

The website mic.com reported Sunday that the six-pointed star meme was originally posted June 15 by a user with the handle @FishBoneHead1, whose account was shut down. Various memes on the user's feed include violent imagery and bigoted, offensive visions of Clinton, African-Americans, immigrants and Muslims.

NBC News found the original tweet by the user by dragging the image used in Trump's tweet into Google's image search and restricting the search to the month of June. The only image that the search returned was emblazoned with @FishBoneHead1 on the bottom left.
