A road rage clash caught on camera came to blows when one driver nearly punched another man into the path of an oncoming van in Hollywood.

The clash, which occurred at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, started when one man leaned out of his window and made a slashing movement at the door of the car next to him.

The other driver swerved his green sedan toward the vehicle, and the two men left their cars in traffic lanes before a confrontation in the middle of the busy street.

A man wearing business attire appeared to land several punches before the other driver fell onto the street. A red van narrowly missed the man.

The aggressor continued to beat the man on the ground, before hopping into his car and speeding off. A cyclist tried to punch him as he made his escape.

The license plates of both vehicles are unclear in the grainy cellphone footage, and no criminal complaint was ever made to Los Angeles police. Investigators are looking into the clash, however.

The video was posted Monday on YouTube. The person who shot the video asked not to be identified.
