A pilot had to abort takeoff at Newark Liberty International Airport Sunday after sparks started flying from the passenger jet's engines, Port Authority officials say.
United flight 5796 was preparing to depart to Savannah, Georgia, when the pilot noticed sparks coming from one of the plane's engines.
No injuries were reported, and all 41 passengers were taken off the plane. Three crew members were also aboard the plane.
Most of the travelers were able to board another plane to Savannah.
