It's a Tie: 2 Newborns Share Title of NYC's First Baby of 2016

It's a tie for New York City's first baby of 2016: Two New York City babies were born precisely at the moment the ball dropped at Times Square.

Zayden Noel, weighing in at little more than seven pounds, was born exactly at midnight at New York City Health and Hospitals on Coney Island, according to the hospital.

The infant and his mother, Stephanie Diaz, were both doing well, a spokesman said.

Simultaneously, Daneilla Malakov of Forest Hills gave birth to a baby at midnight at Northwell Health's Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens. The baby will not be named until bris next week, a hospital spokesperson said.

A second baby was born a few minutes after midnight at the hospital and will be featured in a new advertising campaign for Northwell Health, formerly North Shore LIJ, the spokesperson said.
