More than 800 pounds of marijuana were seized and several suspects were taken into custody in a series of raids on Miami-Dade grow houses Wednesday morning.

Miami-Dade Police officials said warrants were served at three different locations in the Redland area as part of a long term investigation into county hydroponics labs.

Between 800 and 900 pounds of marijuana were seized, along with some firearms, officials said. Information of the suspects and charges they may face wasn't released.

One of the grow houses was in the 17000 block of Southwest 204th Street. A second was in the 20000 block of Southwest 160th Street. The third location was unknown.

At one of the locations, officers were seen piling black trash bags full of marijuana into the back of a truck.

Officials said more warrants could be served as part of the investigation.
