Kalamazoo Shooting Victim Abigail Kopf Home From Hospital

Abigail Kopf has had to learn how to talk, walk and eat again

The Michigan teen who survived the shooting rampage in Kalamazoo, Michigan, told NBC News although parts of her recovery process have been “frustrating,” she’s home from the hospital after two months.

Abigail Kopf, 14, who was shot in the head, was so critically injured that doctors didn’t think she’d make it.

She said her rehabilitation, in which she had to learn how to talk, walk and eat again — has been a struggle. But her recovery will continue at home, and she will likely be able to go back to school part-time.

Her grandmother, Barbara Hawthorne was among six people killed in the shooting spree on Feb. 20. Jason Brian Dalton, a 45-year-old Uber driver, is charged in the shootings.
