Couple Arrested for Threatening Clerks With ‘Gas Bombs': BSO

Police have arrested a Broward County couple accused of threatening to set restaurant employees on fire with what they described as "gas bombs" during several brazen robberies have been arrested, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested Tiffany Sierzputowski, 20, and Robert Golden, 27, just after midnight Thursday at 120 Northwest 108th Avenue in Pembroke Pines.

The duo was captured by security cameras in three different cities over the last three days.

Family members who identified both of the subjects told deputies that Sierzputowski and Golden were both homeless and addicted to heroin, crack cocaine and Flakka.

Golden also admitted to deputies that both he and Sierzputowski have heroin and crack cocaine addictions, authorities said.

The pair entered the Denny's restaurant at 911 East Commercial Boulevard in Oakland Park around 6 a.m. Jan. 10, according to BSO. The cashier noticed the couple smelled of gas fumes and asked whether they'd been fixing cars.

BSO said the couple responded by asking the employee if they could get change for a $10 bill. Golden told the cashier, "I need something you're not going to like. I need the money out of the register."

He showed her a water bottle filled with gasoline and a lighter, according to detectives, and told her to hurry up or he would set her on fire. The employee complied and handed over money from the register. The suspects fled the restaurant on foot.

Authorities said the couple tried to commit a similar robbery hours later, around 10 p.m., at the Denny's at 1025 West Hallandale Beach Boulevard in Hallandale Beach.

In this case, detectives said Golden wrote a note that read: "Really sorry, empty the register as quickly and calmly as possible. We have guns and gas bombs. Quickly."

He handed the note to Sierzputowski, who, in turn, gave it to a Denny's employee, authorities said.

Two days later, around 4:30 a.m., the couple was captured by security video at a 7-Eleven in Dania Beach. Sierzputowski stole several items from the store and then fled, according to BSO.

Arrest records did not indicate an attorney for either of the suspects.
