The YMCA of Trenton reveals its new Library Outpost program in partnership with the Trenton Free Public Library. Trenton Mayor Eric Jackson will participate in the ribbon cutting with the YMCA of Trenton on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the YMCA of Trenton.
“We are excited to be the first Library Outpost, not just in the City of Trenton, but in the State of New Jersey.” The city had been forced to close branches of the library due to limited resources. “With this partnership we can now offer books to not just our members, but the residents of the City of Trenton,” said Samuel T. Frisby, CO of the YMCA of Trenton.
The Library Outpost provides two options for people to gain access to library books. The vending machine option allows you to swipe your library card and receive a book. The other is the locker option that allows you to order a book online and have it delivered within 24 hours to a locker at the YMCA of Trenton.
“Having the opportunity to provide books not just to the children of the City of Trenton, but to everyone in the City of Trenton is exciting. It keeps with the mission and core values of the Y and offers a new opportunity for us to provide a resource to the community” Frisby shared.
The Library Outpost is provided by funding through the Community Block Development Grant (CBDG) and in partnership with the City of Trenton Administration.
