Pa. Group Home Worker Charged for Sleeping With Patient

An eastern Pennsylvania man will serve up to three years in prison for having sex with a teenage patient at a group home where he worked.

40-year-old Andre Lamonte Ingram of Bethlehem pleaded guilty in October to felony institutional sexual assault at Northwestern Human Services. He was working at the center when he met the 17-year-old patient, officials say.

Northampton County Judge Michael Koury sentenced him Friday to the maximum sentence of one to three years behind bars, followed by three years of probation. The judge said Ingram used his mentor role against the emotionally fragile teen.

Ingram and the girl had consensual sexual contact on 15 occasions between June and August 2009, according to prosecutors.

Ingram told the judge he is ``extremely remorseful.''
