Women Find Police K-9 Lost in Storm

The Atlantic County Sheriff's Department has its K-9 back.

"Thanks to the help of local citizens, Laura marcy and Marie Radcliff, we were able to return Dillinger to his K-9 handler," said Sheriff Frank. X. Balles.

Dillinger lives in his handler's backyard in Egg Harbor Township. The police dog was scared off by a lightning storm on Sunday, March 14. Dillinger scaled a five-foot-high fence and squeezed through a six-inch gap to get out.

The  dog was found four days later with a broken left front leg. Veterinarians at the Ocean Heights Animal Hospital treated him and said he was in good condition.

The Sheriff thanks all the agencies and people who pitched in to search for Dillingers.

"It was truly a count coming together for a common goal," he said.
