3 SEPTA Crashes Leave 6 Hurt

A wild night on public transit left at least six people hurt, one critically.

A woman was left in critical condition after her car collided with a SEPTA bus in the Kingsessing section of the city.

Officials say the woman was driving on 54th Street and Springfield Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. when she collided with the bus.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The bus driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The crash was the third accident of the night involving a SEPTA bus. Earlier in the evening, four people -- including three on the bus -- suffered minor injuries after officials say a driver ran a red light and collided with a SEPTA Route 47 bus an Vine and 8th Streets in Center City.

Officials also say another SEPTA bus was involved in a minor crash on 19th and Arch Streets in Center City around 11:30 p.m. No one was injured in that wreck.

All the crashes remained under investigation Wednesday morning.
